Defender 2

Defender 2

game made by droidhen

I stumbled upon this game just a few days ago and I was hooked. I don't know maybe because of the numerous upgrades (i have a thing for upgrades) or the fact that it just feels so good blasting away monsters with a giant crossbow.

You start with a simple castle and a basic crossbow, but you could quickly add additional weapons to your arsenal. Towers that automatically attack enemy monsters could be added to your castle. Additionally these towers could be upgraded with splash damage and increased damage (hehe yeah upgrades!) A moat could also be added around your castle. And it ain't an ordinary water moat at that - it is a friggin lava moat haha take that monsters! The lava moat burns enemies around the castle and could also slow down enemies.

The crossbow that you control could also be upgraded through three different upgrade paths.. power - concentrates on damage, hurricane - concentrates on attack speed and a phantom bow which grants additional abilities as well as a strength (damage) and agility ( attack speed) bonus.
Upgraded Phantom bow, magic towers and lava moat

Different crossbows for different tastes!!!
Damage? Attack Spd? Up to you!!

So much for hardware... The game also offers a wide assortment of skills and spells which could also be upgraded (told you this game got good upgrade options! hehe a treat for an upgrade hungry person like me) First up is the upgrade on strength, agility and an assortment of abilities. Strength increases damage, agi increases attack speed. These presents a tactical decision since in addition to increasing the said attributes it also unlocks higher tier abilities if you upgrade a single attribute at a certain level. Do you spread out your resources and try to get everything or focus on an certain "skill tree" and try to get the higher tier abilities quickly?
I went for fire - the damage oriented route
Freezing enemies with glacial spike
Meteor spell upon impact on the battlefield,

Alternately you could use your resources instead to buy new spells. There are 3 main spells (fire, ice and lightning) with additional spells once you reach a certain level on spell upgrades.  With this game the upgrades just keep on coming. Furthermore I can attest that the upgrades are really well thought of, forces you to think strategically and not just blindly getting any upgrade you can afford.

For those afflicted with upgradititis (as a I call the upgrade seeking affliction) like me, you should definitely try out this game.
